The deadline for filing annual income tax returns for property owners and taxpayers ends on Monday, April 7. According to the statement made by the Revenue Administration (GİB), the period determined for the declaration of 2024 income was extended from April 2 to April 7 due to the Ramadan Feast.
RETURNS CAN BE FILED ELECTRONICALLY
Taxpayers can complete their returns quickly and securely through GİB's digital platforms. Those engaged in commercial, agricultural, and professional activities who earn income under the actual method can file their annual income tax returns electronically.
Individuals with income such as wages, rent, or movable capital revenue can carry out their transactions via the “Ready-to-File System” (Digital Tax Office).
RENTAL INCOME DECLARATION OBLIGATION: WHAT AMOUNT IS TAXED?
The tax liability for rental income valid for 2024 is as follows:
Taxpayers whose residential rental income exceeds 33 thousand TL,
And those whose commercial property rental income exceeds 230 thousand TL are required to file a return.
Those who earn income below these amounts are not obligated to file a return.
PENALTIES AND INTEREST APPLY FOR DELAYS
After the declaration period expires:
Those who do not file their returns on time will face a special irregularity penalty.
In the event of late payment of taxes, a tax loss penalty and late payment interest will be applied.
Taxes can be paid in two installments in April and July of 2025.
