The Borsa Istanbul Derivatives and Options Market (VIOP) April-dated index contract traded at 10,977.50 in the opening session, just above the previous normal session close.

Yesterday, the index contract followed a bullish trend, completing the normal session at 10,977.00 points, 1.8 percent above its previous close. The index contract continued its upward trend in the evening session, rising to 10,981.25 points.

Analysts stated that global equity markets are seeing a mixed trend as corporate earnings, which have largely come in better than expected during the busy earnings season, offset growing concerns that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will keep interest rates high for longer, adding that a busy data agenda is now the focus of investors.

Analysts noted that domestic foreign trade balance data will be monitored today, while abroad, retail sales and growth in Germany, preliminary inflation in the Eurozone, and the housing price index and New York Fed consumer confidence index in the US are on the investors' radar.
