Index contract starts the day with gains in VIOP
In the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives and Options Market (VIOP), the December-term contract based on the BIST 30 index started the day with a 0.9 percent increase at 8,045.00 points.

The December-term index contract traded at 8,045.00, which is 0.9 percent above the previous normal session close, during the opening session.
The index contract, which followed a bearish trend yesterday, completed the normal session at 7,971.25 points, 3.4 percent below its previous close. In the evening session, the index contract partially recovered its losses and rose to 8,044.75 points.
Analysts stated that global equity markets are searching for direction due to the Christmas holiday, noting that trading volumes remain at quite low levels.
Expressing that trading volumes are expected to remain low throughout the week due to the Christmas holiday, analysts noted that potential fluctuations in prices could occur within wider ranges due to thin market conditions.
Analysts noted that today's data to be monitored include the real sector confidence index and manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate domestically, and the Chicago national activity index, housing price index, and Dallas Fed manufacturing index in the US, adding that from a technical perspective, 8,000 and 7,850 points are support levels, while 8,100 and 8,200 levels are resistance positions for the index contract.
