Index contract starts the week with gains in VIOP

The December-dated contract based on the BIST 30 index on the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives and Options Market (VIOP) started the week with a 0.2 percent increase at 9,321.25 points.
The February-dated index contract traded at 9,321.25, which is 0.2 percent above the previous normal session close, during the opening session.
On Friday, the index contract followed a bullish trend and completed the normal session at 9,300.50 points, 2.3 percent above its previous close. The index contract continued its rise in the evening session, reaching 9,308.00 points.
Analysts stated that global equity markets started the week with a mixed trend as the US Federal Reserve (Fed) prepares to announce its monetary policy decisions.
Stating that pricing continues regarding the expectation that the hawkish monetary policies, which have been ongoing for about 2 years worldwide, will gradually give way to dovish steps, analysts noted that uncertainties regarding when central banks will begin interest rate cuts persist.
