While millions of retirees are waiting for the inflation figures to be announced on July 3 to determine their salary increase rate, AKP member Nihat Zeybekci has announced his inflation forecast. Zeybekci stated that the June inflation rate would be around 1 percent. The 5-month inflation difference had been finalized at 15.1 percent. In this case, the salary increase for retirees in July is expected to be between 16.1 and 16.6 percent.

Retirees in Turkey, whose purchasing power has declined due to economic conditions, are eagerly awaiting the inflation adjustment to be added to their salaries.
While 16 million retirees are waiting for the June inflation data to be announced on July 3, an important statement came from AKP Deputy Chairman Nihat Zeybekci.
Referring to the inflation data announced as 1.51 percent last month, Zeybekci stated that the June inflation rate would be closer to 1 percent.
Zeybekci noted the following:
"The latest monthly inflation is at the 1.5 percent level. It has reached 35 percent annually. You will see this month, when the June inflation is announced, that it will be closer to 1 percent. Even if Turkey's year-end inflation is not 20 percent, it will be a notch above 20 percent. And we will see the relief starting from this autumn, friends. We will not loosen up early, we will not get excited early. From the autumn of 2025 and the beginning of 2026, we will all see together, with God's permission, that the wheels in Turkey have started to turn as fast as they used to."
This situation indicates that the raise to be given to retirees could be between 16.1 and 16.6 percent.
While a welfare share has not been added to retirees' salaries for a long time, in line with the budget planning of Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, it is planned that only the inflation difference will be provided this July, and no welfare share payment will be made.
