Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) Governor Fatih Karahan presided over the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, which resulted in a 'hold' decision for the first time in 8 months. 

Economist Mahfi Eğilmez stated the following in a post on X:

"THE REAL GOAL IS TO KEEP INFLATION, NOT INTEREST RATES, STABLE"

"The CBRT kept the policy rate stable. The real goal is to first keep inflation stable and then reduce it, not interest rates. I wish they had focused on that."
