Compared to August of the previous year, the annual (last 12 months) increase rate of the cost of living in Istanbul was 61.84 percent.

COST OF LIVING APPROACHES 69 THOUSAND LIRAS

In August, the average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was calculated at 68,933 liras. The average cost of living in Istanbul increased by 2,383 liras compared to the previous month.

Toilet paper prices increased by 124.77 percent on an annual basis.

When looking at price increases for basic consumer goods compared to August of the previous year, it was observed that one of the most striking price increases occurred in toilet paper prices, with an increase rate of 124.77 percent.
