Jaw-dropping negotiation on the Bosphorus: Offer from Hamdi Ulukaya for the Yağcı Hacı Şefik Bey Mansion

A new potential buyer has emerged for the Yağcı Hacı Şefik Bey Mansion, located on the Kanlıca shore of the Bosphorus. The mansion, where Faruk Yalçın lived until his death in 2008, had been put up for sale by his heirs.

According to Sabah columnist Bülent Cankurt, the person interested in the mansion is US-based businessman Hamdi Ulukaya. It is stated that Ulukaya, who is cited as the richest Turk in the world with a fortune of 11.3 billion dollars, has begun searching for a home in Istanbul due to plans to spend more time in the city.

According to the report, as part of this search, Ulukaya visited the Yağcı Hacı Şefik Bey Mansion, received detailed information about the property, and subsequently submitted his offer. It is stated that the asking price for the mansion is 55 million dollars.

It was noted that the mansion was initially put up for sale for 70 million dollars, and the price was reduced to 55 million dollars after no buyers were found. This amount corresponds to approximately 2 billion 680 million Turkish Lira at the current exchange rate.

It is claimed that Ulukaya's offer is at the level of 30 million dollars, approximately 1 billion 460 million Turkish Lira. Thus, a 25 million dollar gap has emerged between the asking price and the offer. It is not yet clear whether the Yalçın family will accept the offer.
