July 31 is the last day for second installment of Motor Vehicle Tax: Interest will be applied to late payments

Time is running out for the 2026 second installment payment period for the Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV), which concerns millions of vehicle owners. The payment period, which began on July 1, will end on Friday, July 31.

MTV is paid in two equal installments each year, in January and July. Taxpayers who have not yet paid their second installment for July must make their payment before the legal deadline expires.

Vehicle owners can make their payments through the Digital Tax Office affiliated with the Revenue Administration and the GİB mobile application. Additionally, internet banking and mobile applications of contracted banks are among the payment channels available.

Those who wish to make physical payments can deposit their MTV installments through tax office counters, PTT branches, contracted bank branches, and ATMs.

Late payment interest will be applied to taxpayers who do not make their payments by the specified deadline. For tax amounts not paid after the legal period, interest will be charged at statutory rates for each month of delay.
