July raise taking shape: How much will the lowest pension be?
Pensioners are awaiting the May and June inflation data to clarify the raise rate that will be reflected in their salaries in July. Based on the first four months of data, a 14.64 percent increase has been finalized for SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensioners, while expectations suggest the raise rate could reach the 18 percent level.

Pensioners have turned their eyes to the May inflation data, which will determine salary increases. Once the inflation figures for May and June are announced, the raise rates to be applied in the July period will be finalized.
RAISE RATE FINALIZED WITH FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF DATA
In line with the inflation data for the first four months of the year, a 14.64 percent raise has already been established for SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensioners. This rate will be maintained as long as negative inflation does not occur in May and June.
Economists' expectations are that inflation will be below 1.5 percent in May and around 1.5 percent in June.
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE JULY RAISE
If inflation is announced in line with expectations for May and June, it is estimated that the increase to be applied to the salaries of SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensioners could approach the 18 percent level.
EXPECTED INCREASE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND CIVIL SERVANT PENSIONERS
The salary increase to be applied to civil servants and civil servant pensioners in the July-December 2026 period is projected to be in the range of 14 to 15 percent.
AGENDA FOR ADJUSTMENT IN THE LOWEST PENSION
A legal regulation is required to make changes to the lowest pension. The potential regulation to be prepared in this context is expected to enter into force with the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after being accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
At this stage, although there is no official study regarding the lowest pension, the possibility of an increase parallel to the general raise rate, as in previous periods, remains on the agenda.
ESTIMATED FIGURE APPROACHES 23 THOUSAND LIRA
It is estimated that the lowest pension, which is currently applied as 20 thousand lira, could rise to the 23 thousand lira level if an increase of approximately 18 percent occurs.
