Latest status of club shares: Galatasaray brings joy to its investors on the stock market as well

Galatasaray, which delighted its fans with a victory in the Super Lig yesterday, saw its shares traded on the stock market hit the ceiling with a 9.97 percent gain.

Super Lig week 21 results were also reflected in stock prices on the stock market. Galatasaray shares, which share the top spot in the league with Fenerbahçe and are in second place on goal difference, started the week with a strong rally following yesterday's victory.

Closing at 6.21 liras on Friday, Galatasaray Sportif AŞ share prices rose by 9.97 percent to 6.84 liras.

The yellow-red team, which left the Trabzonspor away match with a 5-1 victory, equaled its points with Fenerbahçe in the championship race. Scoring 5 goals against Trabzonspor in a single match for the first time in Super Lig history, Galatasaray secured a win in away matches after a 2-match drought.

On the other hand, Fenerbahçe Futbol AŞ share prices fell by 8.7 percent to 115.9 liras following the one point earned against Yılport Samsunspor.

Among other sports stocks traded on Borsa İstanbul, Beşiktaş is trading at 45.06 liras with a 0.8 percent gain, while Trabzonspor is trading at 2.54 liras with a 1.16 percent decline.

Noting that sporting success is important from a financial perspective, analysts reminded that teams at the top of the league have the chance to generate significant revenue by competing in European cups.
