Trading volumes declined ahead of the public holidays in the US and Japan on Thursday, while Asian stock markets showed a mixed performance.

While Japanese indices diverged positively, the Hong Kong Hang Seng remained flat and the China CSI 300 was in the red. US futures are slightly declining following Tuesday's index losses.

Nvidia, the most important hardware supplier for the artificial intelligence sector, traded 1% lower after briefly falling 6.3% in the futures market following a sales forecast that failed to meet investors' high expectations.

The dollar continues to hover near its lowest levels in three months. The Bloomberg Dollar Index is at 1,240 points. Bitcoin is declining after Binance admitted to money laundering and sanctions violations in the US and reached a settlement with US authorities for a $4.3 billion payment. The largest cryptocurrency, which closed Tuesday with a 1.6% loss, is finding buyers at $36,445 this morning with an additional 1.1% drop.
