The Central Bank's November Market Participants Survey provided important signals regarding the salary increases to be made in January. According to the estimates in the survey, the raise rate for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees is projected at 13.3 percent, and 19.77 percent for civil servants. In the latest survey, the year-end inflation expectation rose from 31.77 percent in October to 32.30 percent.
The inflation estimate for November was calculated at 1.59 percent, and 1.16 percent for December. These data also outlined the framework for the 6-month inflation calculation, which will be decisive for the raises that civil servants and retirees will receive in January.
FOUR-MONTH INCREASE HAS ALREADY CLARIFIED THE RAISE
The monthly inflation figures realized since July have formed a critical threshold for the January raise. With inflation announced as 2.06 percent in July, 2.04 percent in August, 3.23 percent in September, and 2.55 percent in October, the four-month increase totaled 10.25 percent.
With this rate, a 10.25 percent raise for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees is now certain. Civil servants and civil servant retirees have already guaranteed a total raise of 16.55 percent when the 11 percent increase from the collective bargaining agreement is added.
EXPECTED INCREASE FOR JANUARY
If the estimates in the survey are realized, it is calculated that the 6-month inflation will reach 13.3 percent. Accordingly:
- SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees' raise: 13.3%
- Civil servant and civil servant retirees' raise: 19.77%
With these increase rates, the lowest pension is projected to rise to 19 thousand 126 liras.
The exact raise rates will become clear after the November and December inflation data are announced.
