In line with the inflation data announced on July 3, the raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees for July was determined as 16.67 percent. With this increase, the lowest pension will be raised from 14,469 Turkish Lira to 16,681 Turkish Lira. This change has also caused the retiree promotion fees in the protocol signed between the Social Security Institution (SGK) and 19 banks in March 2024 to be updated automatically.
PERIOD OF INCREASE IN PROMOTIONS
While many private banks have made changes to their retiree promotion campaigns over the past year, promotion amounts continue to be determined based on retirees' salaries in the current system. The promotion thresholds of 10, 15, and 20 thousand TL previously set by banks will increase directly for 5 million retirees in July with the rise in the lowest pension. Approximately 4 million retirees who receive a salary below 15 thousand lira will be able to request the new promotion difference by applying to their banks after receiving their salaries on July 26.
The banks that signed the protocol with the SGK for retiree promotions last year include Akbank, Albaraka Türk Katılım Bankası, Denizbank, Fibabanka, ING Bank, Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası, Odea Bank, QNB Finansbank, Şekerbank, Ziraat Bankası, Turkish Bank, TEB, Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası, Garanti BBVA, Halkbank, Türkiye İş Bankası, Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası, Yapı Kredi, and Ziraat Katılım Bankası.
