Mahfi Eğilmez comments on the state of the national economy through building maintenance fees

Following the increase in the minimum wage, price hikes began to appear in almost every category. Building maintenance fees were also affected by these increases.

Drawing attention to how much maintenance fees, particularly in Istanbul, have risen, economist Mahfi Eğilmez commented on his social media account, "The rent of two years ago has become today's maintenance fee."

When one of Eğilmez's followers blamed landlords for these increases, Mahfi Eğilmez pointed to the government as being responsible for the economic situation in question, commenting:

"Do not look for the fault in the wrong places. The problem here lies with the political power that created 130% inflation through wrong economic policy. Three years ago, there was no such friction between landlords and tenants."
