Major hike in ferry fares in Çanakkale: Here is the new tariff

GESTAŞ A.Ş. has announced a 40 percent increase in ferry fares.

The company, which provides transportation across the strait and island lines in Çanakkale, cited rising costs in the sector as the reason for the hike.

The announcement, which covers both vehicles and pedestrians, included the following statements:

"As of 24.08.2024, we have felt the need to make a statement regarding the new fare schedule valid on all our lines, and specifically regarding the price increase on the Bozcaada line.

1- Considering the increasing costs in the maritime transportation services carried out by our company, it has become necessary to implement a 40 percent increase in fare schedules on all lines, effective from 24.08.2024.

2- Accordingly, the automobile fare for the Geyikli-Bozcaada line, which was 570 TL, has been updated to 795 TL in the new price schedule as of August 24, 2024.

3- Furthermore, in the new fare schedule valid on all our lines as of 24.08.2024, all prices for pedestrian crossings have remained fixed, and no increase has been applied to pedestrian passenger ticket prices.

4- The '50 percent discounted crossing advantage' offered to our citizens residing on the islands has been preserved exactly as it is. (The Adakart crossing fee has become 397.50 TL.)"
