Major loss in Central Bank reserves!

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (TCMB) net reserves, excluding swaps, have decreased by 27.7 billion dollars over the two-week period following the IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu operation.

The decline in TCMB (Central Bank) reserves, which began following the IMM operation on March 19, continued last week.

Reserves, which showed a decrease of 8 billion dollars in the week of March 21, fell by another 6.1 billion dollars in the week of March 28, dropping to 156.5 billion dollars. The two-week loss in gross reserves reached 14.1 billion dollars.

The bank's net reserves, which showed a decrease of 11.8 billion dollars in the week of March 21, fell by another 6 billion dollars last week. As a result of this situation, the two-week loss amounted to 17.8 billion dollars.

The bank's net reserves excluding swaps also decreased by 14.5 billion dollars last week, following the 13.2 billion dollar drop seen the previous week. Thus, the two-week loss in net reserves excluding swaps rose to 27.7 billion dollars.
