Manipulation investigation at Borsa İstanbul: 11 suspects detained

Eleven suspects have been detained in an investigation conducted over allegations of manipulative social media posts regarding shares of Aztek Teknoloji Ürünleri Ticaret AŞ (AZTEK), which is traded on Borsa İstanbul.
According to a statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the investigation was initiated upon a written application by the Capital Markets Board. The application included allegations that manipulative posts regarding the AZTEK stock market were made from an X account named “HECTORAS58” between May 4, 2023, and July 12, 2024.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an investigation is being conducted into the aforementioned posts within the scope of information-based market fraud.
Eleven suspects were apprehended in a simultaneous operation carried out within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bureau of Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes. The statement noted that efforts to apprehend 3 other suspects are ongoing.
