The US Federal Reserve (Fed) took a step in line with market expectations by cutting the policy rate by 25 basis points. Following this decision, a recovery was observed in American stock markets.

The Russell 2000 index, which tracks small-cap company stocks, rose by 2 percent, approaching its highest levels since 2021.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also recorded an increase of over 1 percent. The technology-heavy Nasdaq index, meanwhile, recovered its intraday losses and followed a flat course.

In currency markets, the dollar weakened following the interest rate cut, while the Euro/dollar parity rose by 0.25 percent to 1.1895, reaching its highest level in the last four years. The Dollar Index, on the other hand, declined by 0.3 percent.

Activity in commodity markets also drew attention. Gold per ounce exceeded the 3,697 dollar level, testing the session's peak. The increased risk appetite following the interest rate cut and the depreciation of the dollar boosted demand for gold.
