Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek spoke at the Financial Literacy Platform. While making statements about the stock market, Şimşek also announced that financial literacy education will be provided in schools and gave a date for when inflation will fall.

Şimşek stated that they are working with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and the Capital Markets Board (SPK) to add financial literacy to the curriculum:

"We are working with the MEB and the SPK to add financial literacy to the curriculum. We would prefer our citizens to direct their resources to capital markets rather than donating them."

Highlights from Minister Şimşek's speech are as follows:

"Our program to bring inflation down to single digits is continuing successfully. Annual inflation will continue to rise in May. It should not come as a surprise that inflation will reach its peak on an annual basis in May. Inflation will fall to the 30s by the end of the year. With the steps taken in monetary and fiscal policy, inflation will decline very rapidly starting from the summer months. Monthly inflation has begun to align with our targets.

The stock market is not a playground; we need to make decisions based on evaluations grounded in information and analysis. Investment decisions should be made based on evaluations grounded in information and analysis; financial literacy is important for all segments of society. If someone is promising high returns, know that it is an extremely risky activity; do not act on tips."
