Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek made a statement regarding a photo circulating on social media and the accompanying allegations. In response to claims that he established a joint company in London with Abdurrahman Reşitoğlu, who is referred to as the 'tender king,' Şimşek emphasized that this company was established solely for the purchase of a residence.

In a statement on his social media account, Şimşek noted that photos taken during a period when he was not serving as a minister were being misinterpreted. Stating, "A perception operation is being conducted on social media based on a few photos taken in London and Batman during a period when I was not a minister," Şimşek expressed that these allegations do not reflect the truth.

EMPHASIS THAT THE ALLEGATIONS ARE UNTRUE

Şimşek said, "In August 2021, during a period when I was not a minister, a joint company was established with Mr. Abdurrahman Reşitoğlu solely for the purpose of purchasing a residence. This company has no other commercial activity." He also stated that the residence in question was included in his asset declaration at the time he began his ministerial duties.

Şimşek stated that such allegations against him target his personal reputation and the program he is implementing, and that these efforts will fail. "Such baseless allegations are an attempt at character assassination targeting myself and the program we are successfully implementing," he said, adding that he reserves his legal rights.

In conclusion, Şimşek stated that such allegations circulating on social media do not reflect the truth and that the public should be informed accurately.
