MESKİ to implement numerous projects with low-interest loans and grants

In this context, MESKİ will receive a total of 150 million 100 thousand Euro in external financial support, consisting of 85 million 800 thousand Euro in loans and 64 million 300 thousand Euro in grants. This will resolve the 30-year infrastructure needs of 85 percent of the province's population. With the financing to be provided by the European Union and the AFD (The French Development Agency) under FRIT II, the administration will receive a 17 million 100 thousand Euro grant for the Mezitli Drinking Water Network Project, a 15 million 100 thousand Euro loan for the Tömük and Arpaçbahşiş Neighborhoods Wastewater Treatment Plant, Sewerage Network and Deep Sea Discharge Project, and a 7 million 200 thousand Euro grant for the Toroslar-Homurlu-Kazanlı Neighborhoods Sewerage Project. The tenders for these projects will be held in February.

PREPARATIONS CONTINUE FOR THE PAMUKLUK DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT TENDER

Continuing its infrastructure work without interruption under the leadership of Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, the MESKİ General Directorate continues to launch new projects to increase infrastructure capacities that have become insufficient due to the intense migration in Mersin. Preparing to commission the Pamukluk Drinking Water Treatment Plant to provide a solution to Mersin's increasing drinking water needs due to drought and intense migration, MESKİ has secured a 40 million Euro grant from the EBRD. The tender for the Pamukluk Dam transmission line was conducted by the DSI. MESKİ will carry out the tender for the Pamukluk Drinking Water Treatment Plant with the grant it will receive.

MESKİ will provide solutions to problems from Yenice to Bozyazı with projects worth 70.7 million Euro.
With financing to be provided by the EBRD and IFC, it will utilize a total of 70 million 700 thousand Euro in loans for the Karaduvar Wastewater Treatment Plant and Tarsus Wastewater Treatment Plant capacity expansion, Yenice Wastewater Treatment Plant, Yeşilovacık Wastewater Treatment Plant, Atakent-Atayurt-Arkum Joint Wastewater Treatment Plant, Silifke Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, as well as the Bozyazı Wastewater Treatment Plant Deep Sea Discharge, Kızkalesi Wastewater Treatment Plant Deep Sea Discharge, and the Çeşmeli and Kargıpınarı Wastewater Treatment Plant Joint Deep Sea Discharge projects. The tenders for these projects will be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
