Midday in the markets: Latest on the stock exchange, gold, Euro, and dollar (February 6, 2024)

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul rose by 0.11 percent to 8,786.58 points in the first half of the day. In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is trading at 30.5700 Turkish liras, and the euro is trading at 32.8380 Turkish liras.

As of 1:00 PM, the index had increased by 9.89 points compared to the previous close. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 8,776.70 points yesterday, started the day at 8,810.69 points with an increase of 33.99 points and 0.39 percent.

During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 8,751.16 points and reached a record high of 8,851.91 points.

In the first half of the day, the financial index gained 0.29 percent, the services index 0.13 percent, the technology index 1.73 percent, and the industrial index 0.31 percent.

Compared to the previous close, 50 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 48 lost value. The most actively traded stocks were Turkish Airlines, Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Trust, Akbank, Zorlu Enerji, and Tüpraş.

GOLD OUNCE PRICE AT 2,023 DOLLARS

As of 1:00 PM, the simple yield of the benchmark bond maturing on October 1, 2025, traded in the Borsa Istanbul Bond and Bill Market Outright Purchase and Sale Market, is at 39.21 percent, and the compound yield is at 43.05 percent.

In international markets, as of 1:00 PM, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0730, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2550, and the dollar/yen parity is at 148.70.

In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is trading at 30.5700 Turkish liras, and the euro is trading at 32.8380 Turkish liras.

The ounce of gold is trading at 2,023 dollars in international markets with a flat trend, while a barrel of London Brent crude oil is trading at 78 dollars, down 0.1 percent.
