Midnight price hike expected for gasoline and diesel

A new expectation of an increase in fuel prices has emerged. According to information obtained from industry sources, price hikes for gasoline and diesel are projected to take effect as of midnight between September 3 and September 4.

It is stated that a total increase of 3.29 TL is calculated for the gasoline group, with 2.27 TL of this amount expected to be reflected in pump sales prices. It is noted that the remaining amount may be covered through tax adjustments.

For diesel, an increase of 7.76 TL per liter is being calculated. However, due to the magnitude of the increase, it is reported that the option of applying a reduction in the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) is on the agenda to limit the amount reflected to the consumer. No price change is expected for autogas.

If no ÖTV intervention is made, it is calculated that the price of diesel will exceed 90 TL in İzmir and approach the 90 TL threshold in Ankara.
