Minimum wage hike rates to be determined

The process regarding the new minimum wage figure, which directly concerns more than 7 million employees and indirectly the entire society, continues. The commission, which held its first meeting on December 11 hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, gathered again today at 13.30 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security for the second meeting. As a result of the first meeting, the calendar for the stages of determining the minimum wage was established and the work carried out was shared.

TOPICS TO BE ON THE TABLE AT THE SECOND MEETING

At the commission's second meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) are expected to present economic data and reports, primarily on inflation, purchasing power, and employment. Within the framework of the evaluated data, the parties will conduct negotiations on the interim raise figure at the meeting.

WHO WILL BE IN THE COMMISSION?

In the commission, the 5-person delegation representing the workers will be chaired by TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar, the 5-person delegation representing the employers will be chaired by TİSK Secretary General Akansel Koç, and the 5-person government delegation will be chaired by General Director of Labor Mehmet Baş. On the other hand, 4 minimum-wage-earning workers who took part in the first meeting were present at this meeting.

The net and gross figures that will emerge according to the raise rates to be applied to the minimum wage are as follows:

"With a 35 percent raise, the net will be 15 thousand 392 liras, and the gross will be 18 thousand 109 liras
With a 40 percent raise, the net will be 15 thousand 962 liras, and the gross will be 18 thousand 779 liras
With a 45 percent raise, the net will be 16 thousand 532 liras, and the gross will be 19 thousand 450 liras
With a 50 percent raise, the net will be 17 thousand 103 liras, and the gross will be 20 thousand 121 liras
With a 55 percent raise, the net will be 17 thousand 673 liras, and the gross will be 20 thousand 791 liras".
