Minister Bayraktar announces: New cooperation in LNG trade

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar shared a post on his X social media account regarding a cooperation agreement on liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade signed between the Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) and ExxonMobil.

Stating that the US is already one of the important countries from which Turkey sources its LNG supply, Bayraktar said, "In Washington, where we have come for various contacts, we signed a cooperation agreement between BOTAŞ and ExxonMobil regarding LNG trade."

Bayraktar noted, "With this agreement, which is planned to be long-term, we will have taken another step toward diversifying our resources. We are among the few countries in the world with our regasification capacity. We will continue to contribute to the energy supply security of both our country and our region."

On the other hand, Bayraktar reported that they also met with members of the Board of Directors of the Caspian Policy Center in Washington.

Stating that they drew attention to the contribution of both Turkey's domestic resources and the resource diversity provided through international cooperation to the energy supply security of the country and Europe, Bayraktar said the following:

"New infrastructure projects to be carried out between the Caspian Region countries and our country will also strengthen this contribution and positively affect global energy supply security."
