Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat evaluated the third capital increase decision for Türk Eximbank on his X account. Bolat stated, "With the contribution of the new capital increase, Türk Eximbank will provide 50 billion dollars in support to exporters in 2024, consisting of 24 billion dollars in loans and 26 billion dollars in insurance."
Bolat's X post is as follows:
"I would like to thank our Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, for his support, and I wish this to be auspicious for our exporter family.
Since June 2023, we have taken various steps together with our Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey to ease our exporters' access to finance, such as increasing daily rediscount credit limits 10-fold to 3 billion 50 million TL, fixing rediscount credit interest rates at a rate well below the policy interest rate, and relaxing SME limits and the definition of net exporter.
In this context, we will take Türk Eximbank's financing opportunities to the next level with the new capital increase. Having provided a total of 42 billion dollars in loan and insurance support to approximately 17 thousand exporters as of the end of 2023, Türk Eximbank will provide 50 billion dollars in support in 2024, consisting of 24 billion dollars in loans and 26 billion dollars in insurance, with the contribution of the new capital increase.
While strengthening Türk Eximbank's capital structure, we continue to increase product diversity and facilitate access to credit. We have reached the final stage of preparations for a new financing support program, especially for our exporters engaged in value-added and high-tech production, as well as for the green transition, in collaboration with our Ministry and Türk Eximbank. We will continue to contribute to our export-oriented growth strategy by facilitating financing opportunities for our exporters."
Hazine ve Maliye Bakanımız Sayın Mehmet Şimşek'e destekleri dolayısıyla teşekkür ediyor, ihracatçı ailemize hayırlı uğurlu olmasını diliyorum.
