Minister Göktaş announces: Special support campaign for couples getting married

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş answered questions following the cabinet meeting.

SUPPORT CAMPAIGN FOR NEWLYWEDS

Göktaş also announced that they will launch a new support campaign for young people who are getting married. Göktaş stated, "With the discount protocol we will sign with 16 companies, we will offer special discounts to our young people who are getting married to meet their needs such as furniture, home appliances, home textiles, and kitchenware," adding, "We will share the campaign details regarding the companies we will sign discount agreements with and the discounts they will apply with the public at a meeting we will hold on Wednesday, April 30."

MOST BIRTH ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS FROM ISTANBUL

Minister Göktaş said that the highest number of birth assistance applications came from Istanbul, followed by Ankara and Şanlıurfa.

Göktaş also stated that after the necessary review, the first payments for birth assistance will be deposited into accounts in May.

Explaining that 287 thousand 517 families have applied for birth assistance since April 8, Göktaş said, "We received the most applications for the first child with a rate of 41 percent. The number of applications was 116 thousand 594."

Göktaş stated, "The application rate for the second child is 31 percent, with 88 thousand 982 applications. The application rate for the third child is 18 percent, with 51 thousand 843 applications. The application rate for families with more than three children was 10 percent, with 30 thousand 99 applications."

HOW MUCH IS THE BIRTH ASSISTANCE?

A one-time payment of 5 thousand TL is provided for the first baby, 1 thousand 500 TL per month for the second, and 5 thousand TL per month for each child from the third onwards.
