Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek spoke at the 150th anniversary program of Borsa Istanbul.
Minister Şimşek, in his speech where he stated that there is a gap between Borsa Istanbul and similar country stock exchanges, said, "The stock market is not a playground."
Şimşek stated, "We have gained momentum in ensuring financial stability. One of the goals of the MTP (Medium-Term Program) is to deepen capital markets. Predictability will increase with the MTP in the coming period."
Highlights from Şimşek's statements are as follows:
"Macro-financial stability is consolidating. In recent months, there has been confidence in the program in almost every area. There is significant demand for TL assets.
'THE LOSS OF MOMENTUM IN MONTHLY INFLATION WILL ACCELERATE'
If there is a magic wand, it is this: we must ensure price stability if we are to direct our savings toward investment, employment, production, and exports. There is very serious progress in this direction. There is a loss of momentum in monthly inflation. This will gain even more momentum in 2024. Our economy will grow faster than the world average."
