A source with knowledge of the matter said that Şimşek will also travel to Singapore to attend the relevant meeting on June 28.
TURKEY WAS PLACED ON THE GREY LIST IN 2021
The FATF, which determines the compliance of global economies with the fight against financial crimes, placed Turkey on the so-called grey list in 2021 due to lagging behind in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
Turkey is compliant with 39 out of 40 standards. A delegation from the FATF visited the country last month to evaluate Turkey's practices regarding the prevention of money laundering and illicit finance on-site.
The economic administration states that it expects Turkey to be removed from the grey list at the end of the month, and that any decision to the contrary would be political.
