Minister Şimşek's statement on inflation: 'Our support is full'
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated that February inflation came in above expectations and said, "Our support for the Central Bank is full."

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek responded to a post by Anadolu Agency Finance on X.
In response to the AA Finance post stating, "The CBRT has taken additional tightening steps to support its tight monetary policy stance. The monthly growth limit for TL commercial loans has been reduced from 2.5 percent to 2 percent. The monthly growth limit for consumer loans has been lowered from 3 percent to 2 percent. The 2 percent limit for vehicle loans has been maintained," Şimşek said the following:
TIGHTENING MESSAGE
"Monthly inflation in February came in above expectations.
Disinflation requires time and determination. We will continue to work with patience and perseverance until price stability is achieved.
Our support for the Central Bank is full.
The CBRT's additional tightening steps will contribute to rebalancing growth, narrowing the current account deficit, and breaking inflationary trends."
