12.6 million lira fine from the Ministry of Trade to those companies

In a written statement from the Ministry, it was stated: "Market surveillance and inspection activities are carried out by the Ministry of Trade for consumer products such as textiles, footwear, furniture, stationery, childcare products, toys, and detergents in order to identify risky products and protect the health and safety of our consumers. Inspections focus particularly on products intended for babies and children, who are considered sensitive consumers; inspection plans are prepared in line with analyses, and products with a high probability of risk are subjected to inspections. Products are inspected not only for chemical, physical, and mechanical risks but also for the mandatory information that must be included on labels to inform consumers. In this context, 3 thousand 370 batches of products were inspected at 1912 companies in the first 6 months of 2024. In addition to measures such as banning the supply of products found to be non-compliant with legislation to the market, recalling them from the market, and issuing public announcements regarding the risk, administrative fines totaling 12 million 695 thousand 594 TL were imposed on those who placed these products on the market. Furthermore, as part of guidance activities across the country, information activities regarding compliance with legislation were carried out at 2 thousand 438 companies."
