The Ministry of Trade has imposed a total fine of 58.3 million liras on four major dairy companies for engaging in unfair commercial practices against small-scale producers and suppliers. Within the framework of regulations that came into effect in 2024, the Ministry had prohibited actions that disrupt the operations of one of the parties in commercial relationships.
In its statement, the Ministry noted that inspections were initiated following complaints that producers and suppliers in the dairy sector were being subjected to unfair practices and experiencing delays in payment periods. As a result of these inspections, administrative fines were imposed on four large-scale companies that purchase raw milk on the grounds that they engaged in unfair commercial practices.
The Ministry of Trade emphasized that it will continue its efforts to prevent all types of unfair practices and payment delays that negatively affect the commercial activities of agricultural and food producers.
