New decision on deposits: 1 TL payment is no longer for everyone
In the Deposit-Based Packaging (DOA) System, the incentive payment for individual bulk returns exceeding 200 units per day has been reduced from 1 TL to 50 kuruş per package. The current practice will continue for returns of up to 200 units per day.

A new regulation has been introduced regarding incentive payments in the Deposit-Based Packaging (DOA) System, which began implementation across Turkey on July 1. Accordingly, the incentive amount provided per package for individual bulk packaging returns exceeding 200 units per day has been reduced from 1 TL to 50 kuruş.
The payment system has been updated for citizens returning large quantities of packaging under the program, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and managed by the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA).
Incentive amount determined by return method
According to the new regulation, there have been no changes to standard returns of up to 200 units per day made through deposit return machines. Citizens will continue to receive a 1 TL incentive per package within this scope.
Those returning more than 200 beverage packages with the DOA logo per day will carry out their transactions through Counting and Verification Centers. For individual bulk returns made through these centers, the incentive payment will be applied as 50 kuruş per package.
Over 33 million packages collected in the first 17 days
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared data regarding the first 17 days of the system. In his statement, Kurum said:
"We have collected 33 million packages since July 1. More than 2 million of our citizens have registered with the DOA. We are protecting our resources and taking ownership of the future together."
Provinces with the highest number of returns announced
In the first 17 days of the system's implementation, a total of 33 million 333 thousand 990 beverage packages were recycled across Turkey.
The provinces where the most packaging was collected are as follows:
- Istanbul: 2,760,802
- Denizli: 1,332,752
- Sakarya: 1,260,888
- Ankara: 1,225,795
- Bursa: 1,200,501
The Ministry also shared current data for Sakarya, which was introduced as a pilot province in February 2025. Accordingly, the number of packages with the DOA logo collected in the city since the start of the application has reached 92 million 538 thousand 888.
