New price hikes coming for diesel and gasoline

The war that began with the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran has driven up oil prices. According to industry sources, a price hike of 2 lira 14 kuruş for diesel and 1 lira 54 kuruş for gasoline is expected tomorrow. Due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, the increase is projected to be reflected at the pump as 53 kuruş for diesel and 39 kuruş for gasoline.

The war that began with the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran has caused volatility in the global oil market. The significant disruption of transit through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical points for oil transportation, has caused prices to rise rapidly.

According to information received from the energy sector, rising oil prices are set to be reflected in fuel pump prices in Turkey. Accordingly, starting tomorrow, a price hike of 2 lira 14 kuruş per liter for diesel and 1 lira 54 kuruş per liter for gasoline is expected.

However, as part of the implemented sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, a portion of the hike will be covered by the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV). For this reason, the increase to be reflected at the pump is projected to be 53 kuruş for diesel and 39 kuruş for gasoline.

SUCCESSIVE HIKES IN RECENT DAYS

Fuel prices had also seen an increase in recent days. As of midnight, a hike of 1 lira 14 kuruş per liter for diesel and 55 kuruş per liter for gasoline had been implemented. The successive increases have raised the question of whether the rise in fuel prices will continue.
