The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has made significant changes to the Petroleum Market Pricing System Regulation. With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, a mandatory uniform application has been introduced for price boards at fuel stations. Henceforth, at stations with multiple price boards, all boards must display the same names, prices, and visuals.
The changes made to the regulation also include the updating of certain terms related to the petroleum market. The phrase "New Turkish Lira" has been changed to "Turkish Lira." Tariff changes can be made a maximum of twice a year, and these changes will be approved upon the application of the license holder or by a Board decision. Approved tariffs will enter into force on the specified date and will be evaluated by taking economic indicators and benchmark tariffs into account.
Tariffs requiring notification will enter into force after being published on the EPDK website and will not require any approval. The changing of price lists will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Energy Market Notification Regulation and will be valid from the day following the notification.
The new regulations provide a transition period until December 31, 2025. Stations are required to bring their price boards into compliance by this date. The regulation has entered into force as of today.
