The raises to be applied to retiree salaries will create changes in the income of millions of citizens. Following the announcement of inflation data in July 2026, the raise rates and updated base salaries of retirees will be determined. While there is currently no projected increase for the minimum pension of 20 thousand liras, an additional adjustment to the base salary remains a possibility following the decision on the raise.
Within the scope of the efforts, a raise of approximately 18 percent is planned for the base salaries of those receiving the lowest pension. A retiree with a base salary of 17 thousand liras will increase their monthly income to approximately 20 thousand 60 liras as a result of the July raise, thereby moving out of the minimum salary category. Thus, many retirees whose base salary is below the minimum pension will have the opportunity to move to a higher category with the new raise rates.
Citizens who retired under the SGK and Bağ-Kur systems can easily access their base salary information through the e-Devlet system. The updates in question will also be visible on the retirees' payrolls.
It is stated that following the official inflation data to be announced on July 3, the government may present a new proposal to increase the minimum pension.
