New regulations for fuel sales: The start date is approaching!

With the new regulations, documents issued for vehicles not registered in the system will be considered invalid for tax purposes. Therefore, vehicle owners and businesses must complete their application and registration processes before the specified dates to avoid any loss of rights.

The Petroleum Products Employers' Union (PÜİS) has announced that fuel station operators must complete their registration processes by June 2. It will become mandatory to install vehicle identification reader devices and nozzle communication modules at stations, establish communication with new-generation fuel pump payment devices, and conduct sales via the National Vehicle Identification System (UTTS).

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENT FOR TAX COMPLIANCE

For vehicles required to have a Vehicle Identification Unit (TTB), documents not issued through the UTTS system will be considered invalid under tax laws. To prevent any loss of rights, vehicle owners must complete their application and registration processes by June 2, and also have their TTB devices installed by June 30.

DEADLINE FOR NEW FUEL TYPES

For vehicles not covered by the law, the UTTS system will come into effect on July 1. Vehicles using fuel other than gasoline and diesel will be required to have TTB devices installed in their tanks by December 31.

PÜİS Chairman İmran Okumuş evaluated the regulation regarding off-site sales and issued the following warning to dealers: "The regulation that restricts off-site sales, which came into effect on January 1, also directly concerns our citizens. Most vehicles that previously used bulk fuel now have to purchase fuel from stations. Otherwise, they will not be able to use the costs of this fuel as expenses. It is of great importance that my colleagues inform the citizens, who are the end consumers. In this way, our citizens will not experience any grievances."
