New step from the CBRT: Swap auctions can be held

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) will be able to hold sell-side gold and foreign currency swap auctions as part of the diversification of sterilization tools.

According to the instruction sent to banks, it has been decided to initiate sell-side gold-against-TL swap auctions (the CBRT's sale of gold against TL on the value date) to diversify sterilization tools within the framework of the current monetary and exchange rate policy.

Furthermore, it has been decided to initiate sell-side foreign currency-against-TL swap auctions (the CBRT's sale of foreign currency against TL on the value date).
