New step from the Central Bank regarding liquidity management

Following a 44 billion TL decrease in KKM last week, the Central Bank has taken a new step regarding liquidity management. The bank has adjusted the limits for quoted swaps.

The Central Bank, while reducing Currency-Protected Deposits (KKM) by 44 billion TL last week, has taken a new step regarding liquidity management. The bank had previously made reserve requirement adjustments for KKM and foreign currency deposits (DTH) in recent days, and the day before yesterday, it adjusted the limits for quoted swaps.

The total foreign currency deposits of domestic residents, adjusted for parity effects, showed an increase of 1 billion 232 million dollars. When adjusted for parity effects, foreign currency deposits of individuals rose by 805 million dollars, while foreign currency deposits of legal entities increased by 427 million dollars.

The Central Bank's total reserves decreased by 930 million dollars in the week of January 26 compared to the previous week, falling to 137 billion 161 million dollars.

According to the CBRT's weekly money and banking statistics, as of January 26, the Central Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by 1 billion 212 million dollars to 89 billion 154 million dollars. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at the level of 90 billion 366 million dollars on January 19. During this period, gold reserves increased by 282 million dollars, rising from 47 billion 725 million dollars to 48 billion 7 million dollars.
