New survey from the Central Bank: Household inflation expectations revealed

HOUSEHOLDS FEEL THE INFLATION

The following statements were included in the announcement made by the institution:

Sectoral Inflation Expectations were obtained by compiling the 12-month ahead annual consumer inflation expectations of financial and real sector experts, manufacturing firms, and households, through the Survey of Market Participants, the Business Tendency Survey, and the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute.

In August 2024, 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations decreased by 1.3 points to 28.7 percent for market participants and by 1.2 points to 53.8 percent for the real sector, while they increased by 1.1 points to 73.1 percent for households.

The proportion of households expecting inflation to fall in the next 12 months increased by 0.3 points compared to the previous month, reaching 29.6 percent.
