With the new year, tax hikes are coming. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the revaluation rate has changed; MTV has been increased.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan did not exercise his authority to decrease or increase the revaluation rate. The revaluation rate was set at 43.93 percent as published in the Official Gazette. The lowest motor vehicle tax for new vehicles rose from 3 thousand 359 liras to 4 thousand 834 liras.

On the other hand, the highest motor vehicle tax for vehicles with a cylinder volume under 1300 cc increased from 4 thousand 32 liras to 5 thousand 803 liras.

INHERITANCE, TRANSFER, AND ENVIRONMENTAL TAX

According to the General Communiqué on the Inheritance and Transfer Tax Law, for the coming year, the exemption amount to be taken into account for inheritance shares falling to each of the descendants and the spouse, including adopted children, will be 2 million 316 thousand 628 liras (4 million 636 thousand 103 liras for the share falling to the spouse in the absence of descendants), and 53 thousand 339 liras for gratuitous transfers, prizes won in competitions and draws organized for money and goods, and prizes won in games of chance as defined in the Law on the Regulation of Taxes, Funds, and Shares Taken from Games of Chance Revenues.

According to the General Communiqué on the Municipal Revenues Law, the environmental cleaning tax for residences will be calculated based on water consumption, at 3.30 liras per cubic meter in metropolitan municipalities and 2.40 liras in other municipalities.

PROPERTY TAX

According to the General Communiqué on the Property Tax Law, the 2025 tax values of taxpayers' buildings, plots, and lands will be calculated by increasing the 2024 tax values by 43.93 percent, which is the revaluation rate for this year.
