November inflation in Istanbul announced: Highest increase in alcohol and tobacco

According to data released by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, inflation in Istanbul rose by 1.19% on a monthly basis in November 2025, with the annual increase calculated at 38.28%.

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has shared the results of the Istanbul Consumer Price Index for November 2025 with the public. According to the released data, retail prices in the city increased by 1.19% compared to October. The annual price increase stood at 38.28%.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, TOBACCO, AND HEALTH ITEMS AT THE TOP

In the ITO's 2023=100 base index report, the highest rate of increase in November was seen in the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco group at 2.59%. This was followed by a 2.30% rise in housing expenditures, a 1.69% increase in the health group, and a 1.68% rise in the household goods category. Prices in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group increased by 1.28%.

DECLINES RECORDED IN SOME GROUPS

During the same period, decreases were recorded in some expenditure categories. There was a 1.55% decline in clothing and footwear prices and a 0.03% decrease in the transportation group. No price changes were observed in the communication category.

SEASONAL EFFECTS AND MARKET CONDITIONS WERE DETERMINING FACTORS

The ITO stated that seasonal factors, the impact of price hikes made in the previous month, and market fluctuations played a significant role in price movements.

INCREASE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR IS 36.01 PERCENT

The total rate of price increases across Istanbul from the beginning of 2025 through November was calculated at 36.01%.
