Number of paid employees announced, increased by 1.7 percent annually
The total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-service sectors increased by 1.7 percent in December 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. Thus, this number reached 15 million 57 thousand 373 people in December 2023.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the 2023 Paid Employee Statistics.
Accordingly, the total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-service sectors increased by 1.7 percent in December 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of paid employees was 14 million 800 thousand 999 people in the same month of the previous year, it reached 15 million 57 thousand 373 people in December 2023.
When looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in December 2023, the number of paid employees decreased by 1.4 percent annually in the industrial sector, increased by 10.1 percent in the construction sector, and increased by 2 percent in the trade-service sector.
INCREASED ON A MONTHLY BASIS
The total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-service sectors increased by 0.1 percent in December 2023 compared to the previous month.
When looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in December 2023, the number of paid employees decreased by 0.3 percent monthly in the industrial sector, increased by 0.8 percent in the construction sector, and increased by 0.1 percent in the trade-service sector.
