With the approach of the chestnut season in Kastamonu, which is a source of livelihood especially for forest villagers, restrictions have been imposed on those who want to collect chestnuts from the forest. Forest villagers who do not pay a fee to the Kastamonu Regional Directorate of Forestry will not be able to collect chestnuts from forested areas.

Forest villagers who want to collect chestnuts within the borders of Kastamonu, especially in the districts of Cide, Doğanyurt, İnebolu, Abana, Bozkurt, and Çatalzeytin, will not be able to collect chestnuts without paying a fee to the enterprises affiliated with the Kastamonu Regional Directorate of Forestry.
