Only three car brands saw a decline in sales
While an all-time record for car sales was broken in Turkey as of the 11-month mark in 2023, only three brands experienced a decline in sales. Among the brands operating in Turkey, 18 performed above the market average, while 18 performed below it.

As of December, the 11-month car sales table for Turkey has become clear. According to data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), sales increased by 66.23 percent. An all-time record was broken with 840 thousand 925 vehicles sold.
Automotive writer Emre Özpeynirci, in his assessment of the figures, wrote that out of the 47 brands operating in Turkey, 18 grew above the market average and 18 grew below the market average, with only three brands experiencing a decline in sales.
THOSE THAT SOLD ABOVE THE MARKET AVERAGE
Sales increased by 186.90 percent for Ford, 164.75 percent for Peugeot, 131.20 percent for Land Rover, 128.57 percent for Bentley, 128.18 percent for Opel, 122.69 percent for Nissan, 118.47 percent for Citroen, 113.92 percent for DS, 99.06 percent for Mini, 98.40 percent for Maserati, 92.61 percent for Porsche, 74.66 percent for Skoda, 72.43 percent for Subaru, 71.95 percent for Seat, and 67.68 percent for Suzuki. These brands achieved sales growth above the market average in Turkey.
The brands that performed below the market growth rate and their percentages are as follows: Jeep 60.13 percent, Audi 56.98 percent, Lexus 52.92 percent, Lamborghini 45.45 percent, Renault 41.81 percent, Volvo 40.82 percent, Volkswagen 40.20 percent, Ssangyong 39.34 percent, Fiat 66.23 percent, Mercedes 34.28 percent, BMW 30.50 percent, Hyundai 23.49 percent, Mazda 21.56 percent, Jaguar 21.11 percent, Toyota 15.59 percent, Ferrari 15.00 percent, Dacia 11.86 percent, and Kia 8.43 percent.
BRANDS WITH THE HIGHEST AND LOWEST SALES GROWTH
The brands with the highest sales growth were MG with 992.36 percent, Alfa Romeo with 296.50 percent, and Cupra with 250.91 percent, respectively. The three brands that saw a decline in sales were recorded as Mitsubishi with minus 63.65 percent, Aston Martin with minus 12.50 percent, and Honda with minus 7.16 percent. For brands like Tesla, Chery, BYD, and Skywell, there is no comparison to the previous year as they have recently entered the Turkish market.
