Overcoat becomes the price hike champion
In Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in October compared to the previous month was the overcoat at 83.90 percent, while fresh beans led the decline with 27.96 percent.

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest retail price increases and decreases in Istanbul in October, along with their prices and rates of change, in order to ensure market transparency and inform the public. Accordingly, among the 242 products included in the Istanbul Wage Earners' Cost of Living Index, the retail prices of 147 products increased, the prices of 17 products decreased, and the prices of 78 products remained unchanged.
In October, the overcoat, which is in the men's clothing expenditure subgroup of the clothing expenditure group, was the product with the highest price increase at 83.90 percent.
Some of the other products that experienced price increases were sweaters at 75.89 percent, overcoats at 67.10 percent, and coats at 64.69 percent from the women's clothing expenditure subgroup, and overcoats at 60.91 percent and jackets at 46.66 percent from the men's clothing expenditure subgroup, as well as shoes at 40.17 percent from the women's clothing expenditure subgroup.
PRODUCTS WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE DECREASES
In October, fresh beans, which are in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures, was the product with the highest price decrease with a decline of 27.96 percent.
Fresh beans were followed by intercity bus tickets at 19.03 percent, spinach at 14.29 percent, lemons at 7.97 percent, cabbage at 6.82 percent, curly lettuce at 6.37 percent, and match tickets at 6.32 percent.
