Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced in a television program he attended that there would be no public personnel recruitment this year. In the live broadcast on Kanal 7, Şimşek stated, "Our nation is making a sacrifice during this transition period. The public sector will do the same. We are not allowing any ministry to hire personnel, except for those replacing retirees."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel criticized Şimşek's statement and invited young people waiting for appointments to the ballot boxes.

Özel's post on his X account is as follows:

"After March 31, much worse days await our country due to this poor management. Mehmet Şimşek announced that there will be no public personnel recruitment this year. I invite all young people waiting for appointments, especially teachers, to show their strength to the People's Alliance at the ballot box on March 31."
