Passed in Parliament: When will the holiday bonus for retirees be deposited?

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently announced that the holiday bonus for retirees has been increased from 2,000 TL to 3,000 TL.

Following Erdoğan's announcement, the article regarding the increase of the retiree holiday bonus to 3,000 liras, which was included in the 8th Judicial Package currently under discussion in the TBMM General Assembly, was accepted.

After the proposal was accepted in Parliament, millions of retirees began researching when the holiday bonuses would be deposited into their accounts.

WHEN WILL THE HOLIDAY BONUS BE PAID? 

Since this year's Ramadan Feast (Eid al-Fitr) falls on April 10-11-12, 2024, the first holiday bonus is expected to be paid before April 9, 2024.

The eve of the Feast of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha) is June 15, 2024. June 16-17-18-19, 2024, will also be celebrated as the Feast of Sacrifice in our country. Thus, it is anticipated that the Feast of Sacrifice bonus will also be paid before June 15, 2024.

WILL THOSE UNDER THE EYT REGULATION BENEFIT FROM THE INCREASED RETIREE HOLIDAY BONUS?

Those who retired under the EYT (Early Retirement Age) regulation, former retirees, or those who submitted their retirement applications before the bonus payment date will also benefit from the bonus. All retirees who are fully entitled to their pensions will receive the 3,000 lira retiree bonus. Apart from this, widows and orphans will be paid a retiree bonus proportional to their entitlement rates.

WILL A HOLIDAY BONUS BE PAID TO WIDOWS AND ORPHANS?

Widows and orphans entitled to 75 percent of a pension will receive a payment of 2,250 liras, those entitled to 50 percent will receive 1,500 liras, and those entitled to 25 percent will receive 750 liras.
