A new addition has been made to the price increases seen at chain coffee shops in the first days of the year. Starbucks has implemented an updated price list valid in all its stores across the country. The new prices reflected on social media highlight the increases, especially in drinks that receive intense interest from consumers.

The price of a medium Americano has risen from 120 TL to 150 TL, while a medium filter coffee has gone from 115 TL to 145 TL. Thus, a price increase of approximately 25 to 30 percent has been applied to these two popular products. On the other hand, the prices of espresso-based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos have risen to 175 TL, while hot chocolate is now offered at 210 TL and Turkish tea at 75 TL.

Following the price increases, comparison tables shared online reveal that the price gap between Starbucks and its competitor Espressolab has narrowed to as little as 10-15 TL, particularly for Americano and filter coffee. In some items, it is observed that prices are on par with the rival brand, or even higher in certain groups.

Following the new pricing policy, the cost of drinking coffee out has once again come to the fore. The fact that prices for basic coffee varieties have reached the 150 TL level is driving many consumers toward alternative coffee chains, while also making home-brewing options more attractive.

How chain coffee shops will determine their pricing strategies in the coming period will continue to be of close interest to the sector and coffee lovers.
